Thanks Tinnus for your reply. The Fatal Exception is not labelled... I will try a reinstall to see if that cures the problem with gens.. Also a message to Faster90.. How do you get these frame speeds on your T3 with those settings? Especially Snes and Gens, it is imposible without running Warpspeed or another overclocking program!! Also what core setting did you use to test Gens roms as C core is extremely jerky with the settings you have provided.... Thanks... I rezipped all my roms with 7zip. I don't use any overclocking apps. The only background running app is Zlauncher. SNES full setting Video: (Smoothing: fast | Display: 1.25 | Frameskip: Auto | Enabled Fast sprites, no transparency | Renderer: fast | Audio on: 22Khz | CPU core ASM | All Ign boxes checked) So far Yoshi's Island seem to have the slowest framerate (30-40fps ingame) GENS full setting Video: (Smoothing: fast | Display: 1.25 | Frameskip: Auto | Audio on: 22Khz, Enabled FAST | CPU core C, some games crash in ASM ) Most Gens games run very well. Having a fast readspeed SD card might help, I think.

I've gone back to the RC2 version of LJP. My TX keeps giving me out of memory errors and crashing. RC2 runs just fine on my TX. Kirby Super Star is probably the slowest of all my games, even Super Mario Kart.
SNES
Video: (Smoothing: none| Display: x1 | Frameskip: Auto | no Fast sprites, no transparency | Renderer: fast | Audio on: 22Khz | CPU core C| No Ign boxes checked)
I have to overclock to 552Mhz to play Kirby SuperStar enjoyably.

JAmerican What's the framerate different from 312 to 552Mhz? What's the free ram in LJP? Wow, I just tested out PXA Clocker 4.6 Lite (free) on my T3 and see a huge improvement. Yoshi's Island and Mario kart ran perfectly (55-60+fps). Mem: (147 | Bus 147 | Sys 294 | LCD 147 | CPU Clock 588MHz) Actual speed 545MHz tested with Speedy 6.1 (free).

BTW, in order to be able to run LJP on an NX60 the beltbar option has to be disabled. Why? does it crash or what? P.S. In VGS emulation, on some games you cannot start them with the buttons.. Like Spinvaders were you can select level of difficulty but cannot start the game. Which button would you use in the real Atari 2600 to start the game? Maybe I forgot to emulate one of the buttons. It's good news that the difficulty ones work though ;D small bug? Beltbar missing is small? ;D Lol, I can deal with it for awhile, since I used RC2 so much I could list the order of the beltbar buttons, and there exact location in my sleep. sheesh, small bug........... Small enough. 1) It only happens for low-res devices (limited group) 2) All functions in the beltbar can be accessed otherwise 3) RC3 is not meant to be 100% workable as I said already... I'm not worrying much with bugs extern to the emulator because that whole part is being re-written right now 4) You can remember the positions of the buttons from your head ;D So far Yoshi's Island seem to have the slowest framerate (30-40fps ingame) Yoshi's Island uses the SUper FX chip-->one extra chip to emulate-->less speed. And the Super FX is heaaaavy. Having a fast readspeed SD card might help, I think. For loading/saving, yes, for gameplay, no as everything is read/written from/to RAM. I've gone back to the RC2 version of LJP. My TX keeps giving me out of memory errors and crashing. RC2 runs just fine on my TX. There seems to be a problem with the TX. Weird though as it works well on my LD which has basically the same hardware as the TX. You tried fiddling with UDMH options (show X memory, clean up, etc etc etc)? As I said already already, behaviors differ from device to device.

LJP is finally working again on my NX60 with this new release. I was able to run almost all the emulators. The only problem I am having is that the device crashes whenever I want to go back to the launcher using the on-screen menu. The only way to go back without a reset is by pressing a lot of buttons at once until the "exit emu?" option appears. NES runs perfectly (even with sound enabled, which was a problem for Clies using MCA), with GB the sound is choppy but apart from that runs great, NGP also runs OK and Genesis is a little slow (using C core). I tried running SNES using both ASM and C cores but I had no luck (it is the only emu that I haven't been able to test). I am using UDMH and getting about 9100k heap but I keep getting the "out of memory" message (I have tried with "clean up for this app" option checked and unchecked). BTW, in order to be able to run LJP on an NX60 the beltbar option has to be disabled. In my case SNES rarely starts at all (on a NX73V), even after a hard reset to defrag the free storage memory space, if lucky I can get it to run just once, then it just keeps on crashing as soon as I hit "launch". GB works perfect for me (excluding the sound that is), and yes, I also noticed SNES and GB will crash as soon as you hit "launch" when beltbar is enabled.. but no biggy for me. Too bad I ruined my NX80V, or else I wouldn't even need UDMH for SNES games that I normally run

Which button would you use in the real Atari 2600 to start the game? Maybe I forgot to emulate one of the buttons. It's good news that the difficulty ones work though On the front of the Atari 2600 console, the button on the far right, "game reset" was the one used to start the game and some games would also start by pushing the joystick button. The reset button on the beltbar and OSD seems to emulate this "game reset" button, however any palm button assigned to this function has no effect. It's good to see the difficulty switches are working for some, but no effect for me. The "game select" button works though, and is the real treasure Are there any plans for paddle emulation in VCS? Stylus support for these would be neat Also, all the VCS games start out with black screen and the only way to see anything is to use the OSD to CONFIG the GFX and highlight the only ZOOM option, "1". Is this the same for anyone else? Every time a game is launched, even the same game, it's black screen again... Configuration: Tungsten E 12.9 Mb free as reported by palm launcher udmh set to auto for ljp LJP 1.0RC3 14285 k Free RAM reported Testing: VCS - fine, with above notes. GG - fine SMS - some fine, others black screen only, others "error at opening zip" GENS - black screen only, with an occasional fatal alert, sometimes palm locks up in ASM. C core is fine GB, GBC - fine NES - fine SNES - some fine, others had fatal alert, some black screen, and some will lock up, some "could not load rom" in ASM. C core is fine, though some still "could not load rom" NGP - fine WS, WSC - fine *** - not so good (just kidding) note - fatal alerts encountered were plain fatal exceptions, or chunk over/underlocked, or free/null handle (best i can recall)

I take it that's on your Zire72? I had problems loading my snes savestates from the launcher until I'd loaded them ingame once first... after that, everything's been smooth sailing

Looks like Genesis ASM core is b0rken Well at least it crashes instantly on my Zire72. BTW i can't find any info about NGP(C) improvements in changes.txt but SNK vs Capcom : MOTM (oh yeah !), Sonic, Metal Slug 2nd Mission now absolutely playable

Just tested out the GENS emulation, and indeed, the ASM core is broken. When GENS is launched with the ASM core, I get massive screen whine, and the DIA starts twitching all over the screen... soft reset is the only fix. C core works fine.

Weird, I can't seem to remember messing with the ASM core and whatnot... oh wait... maybe I did... hm... but I can revert the Genesis code to RC2 I think. I should replace it (Cyclone ASM core) with the new version anyway. Oh well Now, funny about NGP, I didn't really change anything!

My RC3 Evaluation.. ---- Device Details: o Unbranded Treo 650 o LJP 1.0RC3 o PXAClocker (468Mhz) o UDMH (Showing 19260 + CleanUp) o LJP Reporting: 15,549K Free RAM Emulator Settings: o NES: FS=0, 44Khz, 1.25(hi) o SNES: FS=1, 22Khz, 1.25(hi), FastSprites=1 (still have no idea what this does :-)) o GB: FS=0, 22Khz, 2x(hi) o GENZ: FS=2, 22Khz, 1.25(hi) o NGP: FS=0, 22Khz, 2x(hi) o SMS: FS=0, 22Khz, 1.25(hi) o GG: FS=0, 44Khz, 2x(hi) o VCS: FS=0, 44Khz, 1.25(hi) o TG16: Not yet supported o WS: I never use this o CPU Cores: I use whichever works for the game Emulator Evaluations: o NES: - LOTS of crashes when loading a saved state from the launcher using custom paths and normal paths. Also seems to only happen with this module. - Other than that, gameplay is great. o SNES: - Gameplay is great. Havent noticed any issues here. o GB: - Crashes when I try to load any gameboy original game. Gameboy color works fine. o GENZ: - Gameplay is great. Havent noticed any issues here. - Need different Cores settings for different games but thats expected I would think? o NGP: - some picture distortion sometimes. works fine otherwise o SMS: - Gameplay is great. Havent noticed any issues here. o GG: - Gameplay is great. Havent noticed any issues here. o VCS: - I've never been able to get any game to work right with this. - I've tried tons of games and Ive tried setting Zoom=1, Screen just doesnt look right and most of the time charecter doesnt show up. o TG16: Not yet supported o WS: I never use this General Comments (Mostly suggestions to keep in mind for LJR : o .ini files stored in the Roms directory? Wouldnt Saves be a more appropriate place for these or maybe their own dir? Atleast using different ROM paths avoids having these in your ROM directory. o Would be nice to be able to designate save paths like rom paths. o Was hoping to try out TG16, but I can be patient for LJR of course o ROM Paths needs a 'Browse' button. o BAD BUG: If your in Launcher and you screen shuts off (due to non-use) the phone locks up, you have to soft-reset to make it usable again. LJ should force the screen to stay on indefinately. o BUG FIX: seems getting phone calls (receiving and ignoring) in the launcher now works like a charm. No more freezes or resets. o Launcher overall seems much more stable now. o OSD still buggy when it comes to recognizing button presses. (most of the time you have to tap the button a few times for it to 'see' it) o The whole 'Config per game' thing kicks a$$! *cheers*

Alright - here we go. I have: Tungsten E2 UDMH 5.3 - Freeing 16000k + cleanup for LJP LJP 1.0 RC3 showing 15357k of free ram NES - seems to work fine havn't tried saving and loading though SNES - Several crashes. I tried it with a few different roms and each one crashed before loading. Kept getting a: Fatal Alert MemeoryMgr.c,Line:3732, NULL handle This is suprising seeing as how I'm usign UDMH. GB - Works fine with GBC roms. Some Gb roms are unstable and some I can't get to assign buttons too. weird. Genesis - Doesn't work. I keep getting a not enough ram message from ljp. the machine doesn' crash though. I'v tried with loads of roms. I use Guinea Pig loads and that plays all my roms fine. I don't know whats up with it. SMS - Great. Plays all the classics. No problems. VCS - Seems fine. Havn't tried many roms but the few that I have seem to work. No problems with screen size or charactors showing up etc. NGP - WS - TG16 - GG - I'll try all of these next. I really like the whole interface. Very intuative and easy to use - unless you get bogged down with all the smoothing options - do they actually do anything? I used the save option when playing GBC games and it works really well. Guinea Pig is a bit of a dogs breakfast when It comes to saving and config. If I could only get LJP to work with genesis games. I'd just like to say although it's not perfect this app is a real achievement. I have loads of respect for you guys - Elpecially Tinnus. Your Apps rock.

UPDATE for above post. I checked NGP, WS and GG. ALl work fine though NGP is a bit unstable and the frame rate is very inconsistant. GG is fine.. Have tested lots of roms. I tried mucking about with the Genesis emulator. I tried the different cores, smoothing (still don't know what it does lol), and loads of other features. I also cleaned up my device memory and the card memory. However, my efforts were in vain. It still doesn't work. I just gerna have to keep relying on guinea pig. Oh well

Smoothing is for when you scale the image up... it's a smoothing filter option for scaling. If you look in GBC, NGP and GG you might recognize some names from PC emulators. In Genesis the smoothing option only works for games that play in 256x224 mode (since 320x240 games are always 100%).

oh cool. I''l try that on the GBC.
I got the genesis to work. I'd just put the MemUnfragment and DBCacheTool's DA in the Card launcher directory (stupid me) and they hadn't been working. Now it runs quite smooth but very very slow. Still a lot slower than Guinea pig which runs at about 22 - 25fps. On JLP its running at 12-15fps. Not a problem though. I'm cool with playing Sonic2 in slo-mo. lol

Results with Treo 600, UDMH 5.3, FreeRAM (in LJP) 12754k, WarpSpeed is currently turned off:
NES: Error on launch "Infos - error at opening". Reproduced intermittantly (sometimes it simply crashes), with many different ROMS that were working in RC2.
SNES: Works but belt bar has disappeared. Buttons still work but can't see them. Emulation is still too slow to be playable on the 600 anyways so not much of a concern. C and ASM cores both function though.
GB: Also works, same issue with belt bar.

On Lifedrive, in SNES emulation load and save are very messed up. LJP crashes when i try to load from launcher or in game menu... ony quicksave&quickload from beltbar. Also I tried once quickload and it gave message - "Not in Snes9x freeze ..." or at least something like that. Tinnus, pimp my (your) LJP!!!
