Hm, about the OSD problems, are you talking about Genesis? Because the Genesis module is not included in 092 so you must be using the 0.9 one... maybe I should release just a Genesis ZEM with the fixed OSD stuff.
Or maybe simply wait for the next release....

I stopped being lazy and actually tried to crash the on-screen display a bit, just now. I just did it within the NES module... stayed away from Genesis. Sorry, forgot that Genesis was the .9 module. It seems that getting a crash from going into the OSD is the same as getting a crash from going into the related section in the launcher. What I mean is... repeatedly going in and out of the configuration section, especially if settings are changed, is a guaranteed crash. And the two can be combined. For example, I go into configuration, say, twice in the launcher, changing the scaling of the graphics to 1.25 and back to 1. I start a game, exit, start the same game again, and then try to change the scaling of the graphics in the config in the OSD. That will usually lock it up. Sometimes the crash comes with a memmngr.c (I don't think that's exactly how it's spelled) error, in a reset dialog. But it's usually just locks up my Palm, forcing a soft reset. It's a cumulative thing, basically... the more I fiddle around in settings screens, the more risk of a crash. I can increase the risk by moving around the screens faster... i.e. hitting buttons before the screens can fully load. Leaving the program and re-entering gives me a clean slate. So it's not really the OSD... it seems to have to do with repeated access of configuration settings.

Seems to be memory leaking... are you using UDMH? If so, could you try disabling it and see if the problem still happens?

There are some game that gives me totally black screen after playing for a while on the excact scene. All of them SNES. Happens on .92 and 1.0RC(zire31) My machine is T3. Zelda : go into the castle at start. Get out using any doors. Final Fight Guy: when going into the samurai boss level2. Breath of fire2: hang at start of the game after title. Bomberman5: can't start at all

Does anyone ever get, upon entering the launcher, that some of the roms or zip file's names might be replaced with something completely random, sometimes little symbols like hearts or strange characters? This temporary issue is a curiosity more than anything. The only problem is that the program WILL generate a fatal exception no matter how you leave the launcher (launching a rom, going to other screens, or trying to exit) and you will have to reset.

That's known to happen in 0.9.2, no idea of why it happens though If that happens in 0.9.1 downwards, it's definately something to look at.

Hi everyone, Here's a bug: I running LJP 0.9 on Zire 72. I running the Genesis module. The Rambo 3 game runs fine (sound and all) except that the time-bombs doesn't go off. It just do a countdown and start all over again. It does this with UDMH on and off. So far, other games like Revenge of Shinobi, Batman, Super Monaco GP runs fine. Also, I keep reading about LJP 0.9.2T. Where do I download this? Seems not on YoyoFr's Stuff page. All in all, Great job on the LJP and I look forward to any updates. ;D

No you don't have enough memory at the top of ljp it shows how much dynamic memory you have (Thats not internal memory and the amount of memory on your SD card doesn't matter) you will need UDMH to get more of this memory you can get it from here palmpowerups.com/ I need to set it to 65000 on my T/5 to get Snes and Genesis games to work if you have any problems let me know ;D

bugs I've ran into on a treo 650.
1) Playing for an extend amount of time (metal slug 1), game would hang. Sometimes it would not hange but the beltbar is disappers.
2) the OSD would occasionally not respond at all. Again, this usually happens after extend play time. The game still runs but the only way I can get out of it is via reset.
I can play play SNES games fine but any buttons after the first 2 choices can not be mapped.
Treo 650 running latest sw UDMH showing i have 4766K free RAM Removed RC1 ZEM files and deleted app from Treo before install RC2.
How do you do a clean install? Is the above enough?

I think thats enough for a clean install, just make sure you got the ljp prefs file also. I think there is a memory leak in one of the modules (NGP?) this would cause it to have problems the longer you play. dbcacheDA might take care of it, if you want to clear the cache periodically while playing (dont even know if you can use a DA while playing).

hey, just got the newest version 1.0rc2 i have a T3, the problem seems to be just a program issue. when i insert a diferent card outside of the program do my thing(Use card export 2) then put the game card back in and start up ljp it tells things about the ini file and can't find roms, when i soft reset things are back to normal. any answers??

Seems like it isn't seeing the card... make sure you tap "disconnect" in card export.

Hi, I'm using a treo 650 in the states. I have encountered another bug in emulating so I'm just reporting it to you guys in hopes of perfecting LJP.
whenever I play a game like Front Mission or Super Robot Wars on SNES, the transparent blue boxes that are there to show your move range does not appear.
I have also encountered the same problem in Der Langrisser with the dialogue box, langrisser, in its dialogue box uses a transparent blue background. Front Mission and Robot Wars use that to show your move range, I don't know if it's the hardware or the emulation, hope it helps in any little way possible..
Thank you guys for making emulating come true for me on my treo 650, being a college student, I really don't have use for a $600 PDA and I was about to regret it and I finally found LJP and now it's working to its fullest.
and if you could in the future make the keyboards work on LJP, that would be great because my stubby fingers have limitations when it comes to playing action games hehe

For the SNES glitches, try turning transparency ON, using the EXACT renderer, and/or turning all hacks off.

oh and I did a few tests just out of curiosity. and it seems that I have to have transparency on have it on EXACT renderer AND have all hacks off for it to work.. I tried different combinations but I have to meet all those requirements to make the blue transparent color show up.
Also fixed a graphic bug in Secret of Mana with the bridge in the beginning of the game.

>Bugs >- LifeDrive/Zire 31 can only press one button at a time - see LifeKeys by dmitrygr for this
Will it be fixed in the next versions or should i buy lifekeys?)

Either you buy it or teach me how to "fix" it. I say "fix" in quotes because it's not a problem in LJP, it's a problem in the device, so PalmOne's the culprit

i have tried to install the new v1.0rc2 and no luck to make it work i am not new in installing this emulator. I had installed the v0.8 that was more stable for me. but i just keep getting soft resets, with out any cause. no render line, etc. i uninstalled the LJP.prc (v0.8) and also the 68kb ljp file with fileZ. and deleted all the zem files form the previous version (v0.8) i just was keeping my roms, and game saves. installed the new LJP.prc (v1.0rc2) and put all the zem files in the specified folder.... no use.... and also when i look for a file called ljp-mikmod.zem specified in the line 3 of (how) on the read me file. it is not on the zip file.
please help out. thx in advance

Mauritus, I do have one suggestion. I've read in other posts that deleting LJP's preferences can make a difference. Did you delete the preferences when uninstalling LJP? You mention using Filez, which will not automatically delete a program's preferences when deleting the prc file. Uninstall Manager and ZLauncher offer convenient method's for deleting preferences, and there are many other programs that will do the same. Good luck!

also when i look for a file called ljp-mikmod.zem specified in the line 3 of (how) on the read me file. it is not on the zip file. They disabled the background music because it was causing random crashes for people. That's why the file isn't in the zip file.

Y did deleted it with the regular delete form the palm launcher. and after that i deleted the ljp file that is like 68kb. i don`t know if that`s the preferences file you are talking about.
if not the Zlauncher, please tell what other program can i use. thanks

Okay, I'll give more details this time around. The standard palm launcher will not delete the preferences associated with a program. The a68k file, from what I understand, is a helper file for programs that do not run exclusively ARM code. It won't have much effect to delete it, as it is recreated next time LJP is started. Filez can be used to delete preferences, but it is a separate process from deleting the program. And the list is not in any particular order that I can see, so unless you have few programs on your palm, you might spend quite a while scanning for one entry to delete: "LJPM". Again I recommend ZLauncher first simply for it's ease of use. Tap and hold the LJP icon, select Trash Bin, and in the pop-up box check only "Delete application preferences". Get it at www.zztechs.com/en/ . Next, Uninstall Manager available at www.northglide.com/um.html is the next easiest for the task at hand. Scroll down the applications list and tap on LJP. In the box on the upper right you'll see: (S) 'LJPM' ID:2 . Tap on this, then the "Uninstall" button. It will ask for "all" or "selected". Tap "selected" to delete the LJPM preference. RsrcEdit and Bird are resource editors, slightly more difficult to use. Find RsrcEdit at www.quartus.net/products/rsrcedit/ ; it's shareware with few, if any, limitations. Bird is freeware at www.ppcompiler.org/index.php?lng=en . I'll walk through how to do it on RsrcEdit. Open the program, and scroll down the list, looking for Saved Preferences. Tap on it, then tap the "open" button at the bottom. On the next list, which is alphabetized, scroll down to the entry "LJPM 2". Tap on it, then tap your palm's menu button. In the dropdown menu, tap delete. A word of caution: whatever program you use, whatever you do, be sure not to delete the entire Saved Preferences. This file contains all your registration information, and you will have to re-register all your programs if this file is deleted in it's entirety. Deleting the entry of "LJPM" in this file is all that is necessary. Hope this helps. I struggled through all this and more, back in LJP version 0.7 ... Thanks to all who have posted useful information.
