Ok here's a bug I have along with a way around the problem for anyone that might have the same problem. Using LJP .9.2T I started to play Zelda 2. I used the quick save and then left the game. When I went back in later and pressed the "Load" button from the LJP Launcher and selected the slot the game loaded but the screen was all messed up and you couldn't play. This also started happening to me on Super Mario Bros. The way to get around this is when you load the game click on the screen to open the OSD and press the Reset button. Then load the save again and it should work for you. Its a weird problem. Its not happening on my Zelda 2 game anymore but it still is happening in SMB.

It has only happened to me on the NES. I guess I should have specified what system instead of just the game. Or maybe the full name of the game Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. Sorry about that. I took a picture of the screen so you could see what I mean by messed up. Sorry its a little blurry. spaces.msn.com/members/jls327I had to use Microsoft's My Space service so hopefully this link works for you. Just click on the link and then click on the Photo Album. I would have uploaded the file to one of the free webpages I have but they don't allow direct linking of images from other sites. Stupid web service. I need to find a better one for free.

First of all, great work of art. Everything is so perfect for me. I'm running LPJ 0.92T on a T3 with nothing funny running in the background.
Here's one annoying prob i found.
When playing a game like megaman x or mario (SNES,NES). While you continue walking *right* ->charge your blaster -> jump (right and shoot still holding) result: your charactor jump to the *LEFT* instead. And here's the funny part. When you do this BUT walk left instead of right. Nothing funny happens.TEXT
This happens on Both NES & SNES on my T3 (clean-hard-reseted).
If anyone can eliminate this. This will kick morphgear ass to dust.
Thanks for the work of art. ;D

something similar to johns post..
when i push A, Right, and the middle button at the same time it pauses it... on nes it isn't that big of a deal since the middle button has nothing assigned to it, i believe its the palm itself... not necesarily the A button but the message button
anyways just letting you know

Acctually, in NES mod, it's just like musicenth said. Sometime it stop in mid air, no longer go furthur right. E.G. Mario 3. Megaman X give you reverse direction(twards left) when doing 3 simultanious button press.
At first i thought it was palm .
But then how come it's completely playable when you walk to the LEFT !!?! u can charge+walk+jump ->release B and shoot to the left side perfectly...
hope this helps ;D

I think it's something related to the way key handling happens in PalmOS... (which means, a little crappy like everything else )

T650 tester checking in. Per your advice I downloaded and installed the eval of UDMH, and set it to "enabled". I"m only testing Sega Genesis ROMs at the moment, specifically, Phantasy Star 2, Sonic 2, and Revenge of Shinobi.
Here's some things I've noticed: * Keymapping does not register the T650 keypad, only the top green, calendar, nav, envelope, home, and menu-pulldown buttons. * Exiting LJP to get to the OS by pressing the "Home" key when in the launcher (the only way to exit, it seems, under T650), resets the T650. * Incoming calls are ignored, but if you pause the game you are informed you missed a call. If you try to call back the person, the T650 crashes. * Sound is excellent. * Speed is adequate to good, even on Sonic 2. 7 meg free RAM on my T650. * using ASM optimization MP3 trick and FILEZ renaming worked fine on my Genesis ROMs. If you guys can get this to pause when I get a call, and exit properly from the launcher to the main OS (or taking a call) --- that would ROCK.
Note: Upon further testing. if pause a game (by tapping the screen) exit to the launcher, and then try to use "home" to get out of the program, it crashes.) If I go to LJP without loading a rom, and hit "Home", the Treo reacts normally.

I assume you're using 0.9.2T? The launcher became quite unstable since the introduction of categories.

Yup, using latest version. It doesn't happen with all ROMs. I had particular issues with Phantasy Star 2 exits.
Hope that helps.

Ok. I own a LifeDrive, and while I love your program (Sick!) I get quite a few errors that I will try and tell you about, and how you can re-create them (If you over there at Yoyo have a LifeDrive or plan on supporting it? I see that multiple buttons is being looked into, which is one of my problems, and a MAJOR problem at that.)
Current release version, No BG anything, except occasional music while playing GB games, I am running LJP from a card now, as it seems a tiny bit more stable, but a lot of the crashes occoured the same way as when playing from the internal memory.
Anyway, without further adeiu (sp?) Sometimes while launching the application I get no drop down menu as to where I can select the system, and when I try to do anything at that point, I get a reset.
While switching from GB to SNES I got an error that says: A reset was caused on 6/12/05 at 7:25 pm while running "LJP": Fatal Exception
Random GB game freezing, which I have to soft reset to get out of.
While trying to launch an SNES game, (With free RAM of 4522) I get an error saying: Out of memory ... (Playing Evo: Search for Eden) in the Emulator, and when the Palm is finished restarting, I get an error saying: A reset was caused on 6/12/05 at 7:05 pm while running "LJP": DataMgr.c, Line:8898, DmWrite: DmWriteCheck failed (^^ But its funny, because after I get that error, if I tap the screen quickly before the reset, it still tries to load the game for me, and also note, same exact errors for FF2, FF3, FF5, Illusion of Gaia, Secret Of Evermore, Utopia, Evo, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire 2, yes, all RPG's, as RPG's use few buttons)
Ocassionally, I cannot exit the emulator, I get a Fatal Error, (I am exiting to ZLauncher)

UDMH (Which I just installed, makes the SNES games work, the only reason I didnt use it before was that I thought it would crash the Life Drive, but it does work)

If you're using LJP 0.9 there is a bug in it so you can't set the keys for the SNES module. Use version 0.9.2T from Tinnus. You can get it from this address tinnus.gp32z.com/sms.htm

Treo 650 user here.
I use Baseball stars NES Rom. I run LJP to play a game, then i'd exit to do something else. But when i rerun LJP to play again, as soon as the ROM loads up, it'd reset. AFter the reset, i can run LJP/ROM again, but once again, after i exit and rerun LJP/ROM, it'd reset.
Just reporting a bug.. I love LJP! Keep up the great work!

Which version?
Be warned not to post launcher-related bugs if you're using 0.9.2, as the launcher is buggy in this... and yoyo already fixed it ;D

Good news, I've got the new bug-free version from yoyo which seems to be completely... well... bug-free! ;D Not to mention SMS/GG with sound and new WS and NGP modules. Add to that the beltbar, TG16 and some smaller additions (including low-res support) and you've got a LJP 0.10. Add Atari 2600, zapper support and other minor stuff... and you've got a LJP 1.0 (most likely a Release Candidate but whatever Before someone asks, I'd give a rough estimate for 0.10 at one week, two at most. But do not take that as a law, who knows, a hurricane might hit my computer and I'd have to start all over ;D

A company like Crimson Fire has taken years to slowly make a worse product and charge for it. In a relatively short time you and yoyo have made the best Palm emulator available... for free! I would love to see what you guys could accomplish with the resources that Crimson Fire wasted

As with everybody else here I am greatly awaiting the next version of LJP. The Zodiac may have suffered recently but LJP and the other great contibutions make it the most fun device I have.
Keep up all the good work. If you need any help with anything just let me know what I can do.

I'll add this to this thread, so I won't get yelled at by Tinnus again:
SMS w/ sound works great. Several games still don't run however.
After Burner Alien Syndrome Altered Beast Hang-On Outrun
all do nothing after launch, just a blank screen.
GP Rider has tons of Graphical corruption.
I'm using a Palm Zire 71.

Hi, I'm new. I'm using a Tungsten|E, personally, although I have to fix someone else's Zire 72, and I've tested LJP on that too. It's amazing how well some of the emulators run on my low end Palm, though. Thanks for that.
I'd like to try and help out, so here's some minor stuff I've found. I'm using 0.9.2T.
1. Long filenames: This actually happened on that Zire 72, running UDMH, 16MB chunk, 22MB free. This might be considered a launcher crash, so if it is, I'm sorry.
I used a Kingmax 256MB SD card, formatted FAT. I foolishly gave Legend of Zelda for SNES a long filename - "Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past.smc". Copied it over to the card using a generic reader.
Booted up LJP, tried to switch to any system away from NES, and it crashed. If I hit the onscreen reset, and went back into LJP, displayed NES rom names became gibberish, and any interaction with LJP would crash it.
A true soft reset brought it back to square one. On a hunch, I looked under FileZ, and the rom showed up as "Legend of Zelda - A Link to the P.smc", and it wouldn't let me rename it. Took it to my PC, made the filename shorter, and it removes the problem entirely.
The other stuff occured on my Tungsten|E, running UDMH with 16MB chunk and 25MB or so free.
2. Genesis Warsong/Langrisser: Tile-based strategy game, but the character icons do not align correctly on the tile grid. I've heard others talk of misaligned sprites in some of the other emulators, so I'm just adding my 2 cents.
3. OSD: Trying to change just about any setting in the OSD crashes my Tungsten|E, except for sound levels. Changing video settings is a guaranteed crash, sometimes just going near the dialog area crashes it too.
4. Memory loss and screen resets: Not really that big of a deal. If I crash, LJP will still have some memory in its possession. I've found that if I use the on-screen reset button, it won't give all of it back. I'll go from 23,791K free to 23,782, I'll then reload LJP, but I'll only get 23,789. After a true soft reset, it bounces back to 23,791.
5. Freezes in about an hour: Using the NES emulator, I was playing Final Fantasy II translated, plugged into the AC adapter. After about 45 minutes, the game would freeze and require a soft reset.
I could keep going for about twice as long if I periodically exited the game, exited LJP and then reentered. This became really important when I realized that the SRAM file would not write unless I pretended to "power off" the NES.
Just exiting the game to the launcher didn't seem to keep it from locking up.
Might be Final Fantasy specific. I know I've logged close to 45 minutes on Super Mario Bros. without any problems, but Final Fantasy III translated has locked up in a similar fashion.
That's all I can think of right now... I've been able to cause other little minor crashes, but I can't remember exactly how. I'm sorry if a lot of these glitches seem petty, but I figured you might want to know nonetheless.
Looking forward to your next release, LJP is awesome. It's a shame I'm destroying my four-way pad with gaming, though. Maybe I could graft a gameboy D-Pad on there...
