I have a sprint treo 650 with 1.0 rc2 and i'm not using UDMH or DB cache and I have everything working except snes.anyway genesis use to work great as long as zx80 is checked (here's the bug for some reason now ? I have no trouble using genesis ,but after I use the web browser on my phone and then open ljp genesis play a rom <no problems>but when I tap the screen to leave BOOM! reset. As I mentioned this does not happen at all until after I use my phone internet.) P.S. I also would be greatful if you could explain exactly how to use the snes on the treo 650 without all the memory probs and resets I know alot of people ask but it still seems unclear. Thanx

The Treo 650 has a limited amount of DB Cache. If you run Blazer, it'll eat up most of that cache (and fragment it, not releasing it for other apps). This means there won't be enough for LJP to run without a soft reset. To fix this, install either Dmitry's MemUnfragment (free) or UnCache (shareware). This still won't allow you to use SNES (or some Genesis) games. For that, you NEED UDMH.
For further instructions, read the sticky thread for LifeDrive and other NVFS devices (Your Treo 650 is an NVFS device).

Hello I tried out chrono trigger and the screen is all black in the Cathedral but it's still running. I can go to the equip screen and move around but I cant see where I'm going. When I move all the way to the top, I can see the light from the cathedral but all the rest is dark. I'm using LJP 1.0 RC2 with T|X with UDMH + Uncache + offflush + lightspeed. I tried it with LJP 1.0 RC3 and the same error ocurred. I used both cores C and ASM. Nothing changed. What could be the problem?

nvm, I find that if I enable render exact. it fixes the problem but it's a little glitchy.
Now it always crashes on the time I'm going back to the present. :/

Sounds like your ljp.ini file is messed up. This can happen quite easily if you switch between RC2 and RC3 without deleting the ljp.ini file first.

Hmm... No.. I make clean install of RC3/RC2 (deleting all previous files) Then copy rom file to Rom folder, and tryin to start game
btw: udmh is runnin (~11MB free heap, as sayin LJP screen)

Hey. I've got a VERY frustrating problem. I'm running LJP on a tungsten E2, and whenever I try to play a snes game, i get the message "fatal exception." The program doesn't let me press the reset button, so i have to press it on the back of the device. Then, when i turn on the device, it says "no rom" for all the categories. Soon after, I get the "fatal exception" message again. I reset again, then it works fine, but it still screws up the emulator if I so much as BREATHE on the SNES browser! I have no clue what's going on, but I want my snes emulator to work. I formatted my SD card in hopes that it might do something, but I still haven't tested it or anything. I would appreciate suggestions. Thanks!

Question one: are you using long filenames (more than 31 characters)? Question two: are you using UDMH? Question three: Do you have more than 50 games in your SNES folder? Question four: do you have enough DB Cache free (7.5MB free or so)?

Question 1: No. Question 2: I am not especially tech savvy. I don't know what UDMH is. Question 3: No, only 4. Question 5: See 2, replacing "UDMH" with "DB Cache."
Sorry if I'm making this difficult. Some of my problems have gone. However, I now get three messages when I try to load an SNES game. They are as follows:
"Out of memory loading PNO." "Error while loading PNO" "259"
If someone could help me with this, I think the SNES will work.
Many thanks to the person who does!
Edit: the problems I had before are now back. I think some of my roms may have viruses or something...
Edit again: Probably not. The roms I suspected of being corrupt are gone, and LJP is back to "fatal exception"ing me whenever I breathe on it... or look at it. If someone could explain to me through the aforementioned phrases (in the questions above), it would be much appreciated.

My best suggestion is to read the threads on getting LJP to run on a Lifedrive. The same steps should work for you.

Quoting Nobitsu,
With RC2 on Treo650, turning off transpareny in video config will fix black screens like in the Cathedral and the Masamune cave. (with slight graphical errors)
Never tried the "render exact" option. But on my Treo650 using RC2, leaving the "render exact" option as default doesn't crash during any time travel. (At this time, my game progress is up to the first time you travel to 65,000,000 B.C.)
Quoting k,
This isn't a bug. LJP simply does not support button mapping to Treo keyboards. For now your stuck with the 5-way navigator and 2 buttons on each side (and the touchscreen). It helps to use different settings for different games, hence game specific input configurabilty in RC3.

Okay. I have a Tungsten T|X Palm and I'm running LJP 1.0 RC7. I have a problem where when I assign left and right to, well, left and right it won't work. I've tried assigning to other things but it's almost as if it's getting it all wrong. I noticed that when I assign A to home and B to calender A is contacts and B is the internet button as far as I can tell.
Edit: I switched back to RC2 (I didn't skip 3 on purpose, I just did it at random) and now left and right work again and the other buttons are assigned properly. I'd like to know how to get the same working in the newest version.

weird, did you delete the .ini file on your card?

This definitely sounds like an .ini issue. My TX's 5-way has had no problems with Metaview's builds.
Should we lock this thread now, and add links in it to the Mantis bug tracking page?

I deleted the .ini file and reinstalled a couple of times. It never fixed it. Edit: I removed the card to try again at reinstalling and realized an older version was still on the palm's internal memory along with the new version on the card and wouldn't show up until I removed the card. When I saw it I deleted it and I seem to have fixed it. Nope. I'm still having the exact same problem. I set Home to A, Calender to B, Contacts to Start and Internet to Select, but it's the other way around when I actually play and left and right won't work. Okay, so the way the setup is after I try to change it but nothing seems to work is just the default. No matter what I set the settings to in Config it still uses the default settings. Wow. I figured I would revert to RC 3 if RC 7 is working but I guess it's a problem with my palm or something or something left over from RC 2 because the same is happening in RC 3. I'll switch back to RC 2 since it works for now but I'll bet I'm on the right track for fixing the problem. I'd still like to hear the solution from someone else before I finally manage to fix it in a few weeks.

From a few of the other threads: check your ROMs folder. Do you have an .ini file in there with the same name as your ROM? If you've made a custom config file, it will override the generic config file for RC3 and later.

I have a Tungsten T3 and LJP installed with some systems (Genesis, SNES, NES and VCS). Everything runs just fine but, when I need to press diagonals or some key combinations to play a game, it calls the menu and I always have to click on the 'back' green button to return to game.

This is a known issue with the T3; my guess is that it has to do with pressing too firmly.

When I am playing Sonic the Hedgehog On the NGP emulator, it gives me a black screen after the first level. Whether I exit through the special stage or the normal. Any help would be appreciated.

genesis games F1 circus and rugby world cup 95 do not work properly on my Zodiac 2 using LJP.
The scrolling does not stop following a try in Rugby WC and it is not possible to go on. The same problem appears in F1 circus. The scrolling does not stop at the end of the starting grid and the game cannot go on.
I tried the roms using another emulator and they seemed to work properly.
Does anyone remarked this problem and is it possible to correct it? Thank you for the answer

coder12: That always happened to me as well, it's probably a bug inside the emulator (not your configurations). Not something I'd invest time checking into though since I might change some of the emulators themselves for LJX (except NES and SNES).
izno: Don't ask the same thing twice in 2 different places. I answered in your topic, go read your answer there.
